What is "Super Genki" Anyway?
If you've ever been to Japan, you've probably heard the word 元気 (genki).
It's used to describe energy, enthusiasm, and good vibes.
When I moved to Tokyo in April 2024, inspiration hit me and that's when Super Genki was born.
People would ask me if I was genki, and I'd say "I'm Super Genki". Everybody loved it! (both in English and Japanese)
That's what Super Genki™ Conversational Wear is all about...a new way to think about clothing that bridges cultures and starts conversations, no translation needed.

How Super Genki Came To Life
The creative spark hit me during an almost 3-year journey (2 years, 10 months to be exact) traveling across the U.S., Canada, and even a super remote drive up the Dempster Highway to the Arctic Ocean (#1 highlight of our travels).
My wife Hiroko, our dogs Matsuhiro (RIP my little baby boy) and Porco, and I explored everywhere in our RV.
Those years on the road set things in motion for me to create my own clothing brand, and there's been no looking back since.
Those years on the road showed me I wanted to build something of my own.
When I moved to Tokyo in 2024, everything changed.
The city's energy, the intersection of tradition and cutting-edge fashion, the way people express themselves through what they wear, it all moved me to be inspired!
The Tokyo Connection
Tokyo wasn't just an inspiration, it became my home.
When I first moved to Japan in 2024, I landed in an area I'd never heard of before in central Tokyo, even though I'd visited many times over the years.
I ended up in Nishiazabu, and from there I could walk to Roppongi, Shibuya, Harajuku, exploring and meeting people everywhere I went.
I met locals, artists, creators, people who weren't afraid to stand out.
I saw how fashion worked as a conversation starter, how a shirt could get strangers talking even when they didn't speak the same language.
That's when I realized Super Genki wasn't just about cool designs.
It was about creating something that connects people.
